Caleigh's Tea Party
Amy Brace
I can't believe my sweet little lady is 4! It seems like not so long ago I was bringing her home from the hospital and getting settled in. And now she's 4, and we thought a tea party would be an amazing way to celebrate!
Little did I know, my gramma has a crazy amazing tea cup and saucer collection, complete with tea pot, sugar, creamer, and extra dessert plates. Perfect!
I bought Caleigh a little tea cup and saucer set with a tea pot as a special gift, but everything else is from my gramma. Having everything from her made the party extra special. After I saw all the different cups, it inspired me for the theme for the rest of the party. Sparkly of course!
Almost all the cups had gold on them, so I went with a rose gold tablecloth I found online. Since Caleigh's birthday is in November, I never think about flowers, but this year I decided it was going to be just like a spring or summer tea party, with lots of flowers! Two people came to mind, Kelly with Maven and Emily with Hadley Road.
These ladies went above and beyond my expectations with the flowers. Everything was perfect and just how I imagined. Kelly also helped me with extra decor and styling the table and chairs. I also knew I wanted the giant frilloons because Caleigh was SO excited when I brought one home from another event. So, my go-to ladies at White Peacock Events were one of my first calls.
I have never rented before, but after looking online for plates and cups and goldware, I was feeling a little overwhelmed. Then I remembered seeing something on Facebook about Apres. Perfect. I rented the chairs, gold plates, goldware, napkins and goblets. It was so easy to go pick everything up, and it was everything I needed without the extra expense.
Everything was set! Now onto desserts, sammiches and of course, the tea! I made French macarons, petit fours, a cake complete with gold leaf, scones and biscuits, along with homemade clotted cream. My mom was a huge help getting everything set up and out because we had family pictures that morning too, because why not, we all looked great, let's take some pictures! I also ordered some chocolates from Kevin from Ganache because I don't make chocolate haha. Hands are too hot!
Our amazing friend Amy made all the tea sammiches and I think she had about 25 different ingredients she was working with at once. Making every sandwich unique and all equally amazingly delicious.
We finally had our beautiful tea party set up, and our guests arrived! Ashley Elwill was the first to arrive and took photos of everything and perfectly captured her birthday party. Along with our family. So, thank you a million times over to our amazing friends and family who came to share Caleigh's birthday with us. We love you all! And here are the amazing photos of Caleigh's special day!
